Happy holidays to all friends, fiends, lovers and dealers. If you happen to be in Oslo on new years eve come and join Deadswan and Arildo Dildo at The Villa for some unholy dancing, worshipping and regular decaDANCE!
You might shake your money maker to the sound of these ... enjoy!
The first up is LUNCHBOX «BABY JANE». I´ve posted it before, but i´m putting up again because i´m such a nice queen.
The sample is lifted form one of my favourite movies ever, «WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?» (1961).
Portrayed by Bette Davis, «Baby» Jane Hudson is a child star in vaudeville. A spoiled, narcissistic brat, that regularly bullies and abuses her older, more talented sister, Blanche, played by Joan Crawford.
Years later, however, Blanche becomes a huge star, while the untalented, alcoholic Jane languishes in grade-Z shlock, only receiving attention from the tabloids for her drunken party antics. While the two sisters live together in the house their father had left to them, their relationship is antagonistic and bitter, with Blanche taking the brunt of Jane's mockery and temper tantrums, often in public. Blanche nevertheless tries to be a good sister and negotiates roles for Jane in her movies, which only makes Jane angrier and more abusive ... just liksten to the track and you´ll get an idea. And buy, rent or download the movie. It`s brilliant.
For more drama, buy the book «Bette and Joan: The Divine Feud». It´s a no-holds-barred account of the long-term rivalry between Bette Davies and Joan Crawford.
LUNCHBOX «BABY JANE» 12” VERSION
JEREMY SCOTT WANNABE A POPSTAR
No one flies his freak flag quite as proudly as the designer Jeremy Scott does. He has become a cult figure in the fashion community, and his shows have attracted everyone from Courtney Love to Monica Lewinsky. His design is somewhere between popart and adbusters ... you gett he idea? At the same time it´s fun fun fun!
«Fun» is the best way to describe the song Jeremy Scott put out on A Touch Of Class USA under the name SIDEVIEW. It´s a ghetto/tech style track where Jeremy is making fun of the fashion/music world, and of course himself, singing «I wanna be a popstar/Not a junkie rockstar». I told you it was fun!
On friday 7 december «The godfather of disco», Mel Cheren, passed away.
This wonderful man was a seminal part of the dance music, nightclub, and AIDS charity worlds. He was the innovator of the 12”single, one of the people most instrumental in commercially releasing a fledgling style of music called «disco», and the co-founder of West End Records, which produced legendary records by Karen Young and Taana Gardner, among others.
He was also the financial backer behind The Paradise Garage, the legendary club of all clubs.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Mel Cheren in 2005 on the release of «I Was Born This Way», charity single with vocals by Carl Bean.
If you want the truth about disco, club culture and the impact hiv and aids ha don the gay community in the 80`s i recommend you get hold of Mel Cheren`s book «My Life and the Paradise Garage: Keep Dancin'», from 2000.
The book is a truly magical recount of gay history and an introduction to DJ Culture.
In memory of Mel Cheren: have a dance and say «Thanx!»
So it seems that everyone, and their dealer, are creaming their pants due to the highly anticipated Miss Kitting «comeback» … Well, not that I want to piss on any parade … but please … you know what I mean?
First we had Miss Kittin & The Hacker «Hometown». Huge yawn!
And now, big arty fanfare, Miss Kittin «Kittin Is High». As some would say; «it has a certain naïve charm … But no muscles!»
I´m not a hater – promise … But that whole i-am-tired-of-life-and-i-write-absurd-lyrics-and-i-can-just-talk-over- this-beat-as-long-as-it-last-around-10 minutes-or-so is frankly not doing it for me. Although i´m dying to find out who hides behind the Black Labelle-name … They are fellow Norwegians I hear. Well, i´ll keep an eye open for them!
But why bitch about Kittin? I look forward to the album – that´s all I can say at this point.
So, I should end this post with some great music. And my ears can´t get enough of Xenia Beliayeva at the moment. This is dark pop music ... pop that makes you look over your shoulder while dancing and having Pinhead trying to lure you away from the dancefloor ... «We have such sights to show you ...»
Check out these tracks and i´m sure you´ll feel the same way.
John Langdon and Katya Casio are Hong Kong Counterfeit. And they really was the sound of the future at the time when the hype called electroclash came down on us like a ton of bricks. Sure, we all still remember Fischerspooner`s «Emerge» and we still giggle along to Miss Kittin & The Hacker`s «Frank Sinatra».
But the one that still makes me dance and shake my head in a frenzy is Hong Kong Counterfeit`s amazing «Metal Disco» from 2000.
// Robots dancing in the night // // Faces flash in neon lights // // You know it's time to move your feet // // To the Metal Disco beat //
But, dear punter, you´ll have to dig that one up yourself ... I want to share these gems with you. These are from the Hong Kong Counterfeit album «Counterparts» from 2004.
HONG KONG COUNTERFEIT «MAGNETIC SUPERFUTURE»
HONG KONG COUNTERFEIT «TELEVISION MAN»
AND THAT´S NOT ALL FOLKS!
John Langdon and Katya Casio are also known as `Lectronix. ... and if i have to choose ... i have to say `Lectronix is my favourite project by John Langdon and Katya Casio.
I mean ... just listen to «Windowshopping In The Mirror» ... you know what i mean? Yes ..?
// I can´t resist the sweet temptetion // // I want to feel the sweet sensation // // No other feeling can compare to this // // Just watch the mirror in a state of bliss // // Step in my room and you can do it to // // This windowshopping is for me and you //
So Norway´s top 50 dj´s have been selected by the public, or rather clubbers and such.
The Top 50 Djs Poll was hosted by the free paper Natt&Dag and now the verdict is out.
Norway´s best dj is G-HA – and too bloody right as well! Respect!
I made the 32 spot. And i´m just surprised that i even made the list ... Thax to all my friends who voted!
The best bit of the list is how they describe each dj`s style. I fell to the ground and just rolled around laughing when i read the description on my style of music. I could never come up with this myself – but i promise you: i will use this when i promote myself. It´s genius and totally on the spot, if you ask me ...
32. Dj Deadswan Style: «DIY-aesthetics, neon colours, fetish, arpeggio-synth and punk bass, callously vocals about cynical sexuality, gender bending, drugs and alienation.»
Just a quickie folks... Two favourite tracks of mine and a short, instant mix featuring two of the Soft Cell remixes from the forthcoming remix album. Enjoy!
«DANCING LAUGHING DRINKING LOVING» COVER
DJ DEADSWAN «DANCING LAUGHING DRINKING LOVING»
PLUNDERSONICS «MUTANTS HERE I AM» Plundersonics are Thies Mynther and Melissa Logan, from Chicks on Speed, and this tune was made for the Commodore 64-album «Input 64». Very fun, catchy and works well even if you, like me, never had any interest at all for computor games ...
PLUNDERSONICS «MUTANTS HERE I AM»
SEXUAL HARASSMENT «IF I GAVE YOU A PARTY» This was released in 1983, but featured on Gomma’s «Anti-NY» compilation from 2000 which promoted new interest in the disco-not-disco sound. Is it out of key, is it just pure madness? Maybe ... but either way it throws you around and causes huge amounts of instant pleasure and excitement!

For my norwegian readers: Gry Jannicke Jarlum aka J-Diva aka The Motherfucking Diva Queen. ... ord blir fattige.
You go girl!
GRY JANNICKE JARLUM «MOTEMENNESKER»
AND NOW FOR SOME INTERNATIONAL WEIRDNESS: THE SHAGGS For my english visitors: You may, or should, be familier with the unique group The Shaggs.
To give you a taster. Here are two of their most popular tunes.
Ever had the feeling of being completely lost ... ha ha, no it´s not a trick question you fool!
I really feel what The Micronauts are on about in their song «The Jag» when i watch the video Gregg Araki made for the track ... kind of like the Pulp song that goes «I seem to have lost an important piece of my brain, somewhere in a field in Hampshire ...»
My recommandation? If you find yourself in a situation like this, just go with the flow ... And start singing, «Oh Baby what you´ve done to me ...»
«I'm sexy, I'm cute, / I'm popular to boot / I'm bitchin', great hair, / The boys all love to stare, / I'm wanted, I'm hot, / I'm everything you're not, / I'm pretty, I'm cool, / I dominate the school, / Who am I? Just guess, / Guys wanna touch my chest, / I'm rockin', I smile, / And many think I'm vile, / I'm flyin', I jump, / You can look but don't you hump, / Whoo / I'm major, I roar, / I swear I'm not a whore, / We cheer and we lead, / We act like we're on speed, / You hate us 'cause we're beautiful, / Well we don't like you either, / We're cheerleaders, / We are cheerleaders. / Roll call...»
MICHAEL FORSHAW «CHEERLEADER» DJ URBAN REMIX
And after the game i meet up with my boyfriend, captain of the team, in the locker room ... we hit the showers ... and suddenly i feel a song coming on ..! «Oh no, not again!» i hear you cry ... But wait – you wanna listen to this, i promise!
My idol, Morrissey, once said: «Dance music has destroyed everything» …
Now, there are lot´s of crap out there – and the band Freezepop have released their fair share of crap … However: this time they struck me hard with their album «FUTURE FUTURE FUTURE PERFECT».
Just listen to this naïve and catchy pop tune – dance the dust away and brighten up your day!

Do you look a mess Do you have a hangover Did you over do the lemonade Cut short on the soda Did you do that dance The doctor told you that you shouldn't do But you're only young You should do that dance twice over I know it's pretty early But you still look great Just ready for the beauty That the make-up will create Take a little blusher Take a little paint Put on the silver dress The one that makes the young boys faint I'm sitting on my bed And I'm looking at the time Have a cup of coffee And you're feeling fine Put on that new record That you brought the other day The words'll make you smile You can dance the dust away Make your single bed And push the tea leaves down the drain Take a long deep breathe And start the night life over again
What is this thing called Gay? I thought it was about life, love and passion That is was way more original Than the latest high street fashion That it was more than a business proposition. I thought it lived in glorious opposition To some of the hideous wrongs of our society That gay meant colour Of more than the rainbow variety That experience was our college, Life, our university I thought this thing called gay Meant we were warriors of diversity Banners flying high Weapons in hand Marching mincing To the Promised Land. That it was way more important Than the newest celebrity in vogue Call me old-fashioned But I think this thing called Gay Means so much more Than just Kylie Minogue, So much more than wanting more So what is this thing called Gay? And who is it for?
Well This is for the rent boys Disadvantaged and the poor This is for the people our magazines ignore This is for the volunteers And the mobile-phoneless This is for the streets And the gays who are homeless.
This is for the queers Who first answered the clarion call Those magnificent men who were drag queens Breaking rules and breaking nails By throwing bricks at Stonewall. This is for their sparkle This is for their spangle This is for those who wore the pink triangle. This is for the ladies, transgendered and the gents And those sassy saucy Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
This is for the slogan “No surrender” For every diesel dyke And lipstick lesbian avenger. This is for the complex, the confident and banal And for all those wonderful times Cruising the canal. This is for the bitter, this is for the sweet And for all of you out there Who love an anal treat.
This is for the people who survived their abusers This is for the sex workers and the wheelchair users For families, friends, partners Who’ve watched their loved ones die For the lowest of the low The highest of the high. This is for those of us who live with this disease This is for anger This is for peace. This isn’t for Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey or Madonna This is for unity, integrity and honour For individuality and its increasing rarity For S&M And its liberating perversity. This is for the fat This is for the skinny This is for the screaming queen And the moaning Minnie. This is for the winners But more for the losers And for all my friends The pill-poppers and boozers Rave on Gaychester!
This is for movement This is for stillness This is for sanity And mental illness. This is for the families who have never pretended This is for the forgiving And the offended This is for coming through the violence and hate This is for the end Of Clause 28. This is for the isolated This is for the crowd.
«Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and her reactivated Psychic TV aka PTV3 are terribly sad to announce the cancellation of their November North American tour dates. This decision is entirely due to the unexpected passing of band member Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge.
Lady Jaye died suddenly on Tuesday 9th October 2007 at home in Brooklyn, New York from a previously undiagnosed heart condition which is thought to have been connected with her long-term battle with stomach cancer. Lady Jaye collapsed and died in the arms of her heartbroken "other half" Genesis Breyer P-Orridge.
Being overwhelmed by the enormity of their loss, Genesis and the other surviving band members of Psychic TV/PTV3 are not able to properly meet the demands of touring and performance. Obviously, her absence onstage , the conspicuous loss of her unique charisma, music and humour would be an unbearable emotional reality to confront night after night.
The group, who have been touring to promote their first studio album in 12 years, will announce future plans after an appropriate period of mourning.»
I guess i should be upset about Hank von Helvetes outburst about gay marriage ... comparing it to people having sex with sheeps ... but, you know ... why bother?
He´s in way over his head now, the sweetheart ...
I have to tolerate him as i have to tolerate religious gay´s , and even gay priests... Masochists, if you ask moi. Not that there is anything wrong with that!
Our religious Hanky Hank von Hell – and his troupe Turboneger – are usually pretty good at playing this game, and fuck around with the press and the politically correct amongst us. This time though it´s not even funny you know ...
The only funny aspect of it all is that when the interview in NO was released Turboneger was in San Francisco ... Now that´s a kick in the rubber parts! Ha ha.
Anyway´s punters: I love Hank von Helvete – and as soon as he buys me a bottle of Vodka i`ll kiss him on the cheek and let it all go.
...however: i want him to point out excactly where in the bible all the rules about marriage is written. I never read the book you see ...
Enjoy this earcandy by the way. It samples Turboneger ... and all their rules ...
HIRSUTE PURSUIT is the brainchild of Harley Phoenix, a gay man that is not ashamed to let the world know, loud and clear, he’s a man’s man. The upcoming CD, «That Hole Belongs To Me», will feature collaborators such as Bryin Dall of Thee Majesty, Boyd Rice of NON and Sleazy of Coil/Throbbing Gristle – nothing shocking there right?
The music is real. The sex is real. Hirsute Pursuit has struck a chord with more and more gay men, and more will follow after his songs finds their way through cyber space.
From GLAM, Gay and Lesbian Alternative Music conference and award show: Hirsute Pursuit Man-to-Man Electronic Sex Music
Created by Harley Phoenix, this is Gay Sex Music that offers no apologies. Enticing rhythms combined with raw sex and a commanding, deep, resonate voice, Harley has transformed explicit instructions for serving his pleasure into a musical orgy that hits the gay community where it plays, the dance floor and the bedroom. Sleazy dance beats pound along at tempos that encourage carnal exploration, while sounds of ecstasy cannot be ignored. You will be thinking Cock Thoughts.
After starting with a MySpace page in 2006 Hirsute Pursuit has become THE MOST PLAYED GAY MUSIC ON MYSPACE. Typical letters from fans tell Harley that after listening to his music, they HAD to go “get off”. While fans have been pleading for photos, Harley refuses to give in. Understanding the restraints of reality, Harley remains in the shadows, making Hirsute Pursuit the ultimate in musical fantasy.
Without any publicity or releases, Hirsute Pursuit has had over 140,000 plays in less than a year! Drawing fans from all musical genres, including House, Country, Rock, Hip Hop, etc. Primarily attracting a gay audience, recent fans also include female dominatrixes and middle-class housewives. The raw sensuality has now crossed over into the heterosexual domain.
This is music you can fuck to, as well as bump and grind.
Harley Phoenix is currently preparing Hirsute Pursuit’s live show experience which will include actual musicians, dancers and video to give the audience members a complete sensory explosion.
DO YOU WANT? DO YOU WANT IT? YOU CAN FUCKING HAVE IT!
