I love dirrty grrrls with soul
I wanted to share with you some of my favourite grrls at the moment. The tuffest, queerest and rocking grrrls of course!
So, where do i start?
Well, with THE GOSSIP of course.
When i heard «Standing In The Way Of Control» the first time i was floored. So kool, and THAT voice... Beth Ditto is a godess!
So kool then when for the new single, «Listen Up!», they team up with the hottest producers to make a extended remix. ATOC, A Touch Of Class, stretches «Listen Up!» til around 8 minutes, complete with a hint of Donna Summeresque beat along the way.
Suuuuumertiiiiiime!

And now, take a trip with me over to Madrid and the wonder that is Dirty Princess!
The members of Dirty Princess, Big Toxic, Yasmin & Nikky Schiller, are raunchy, sleazy, in yer face and have a political agenda worth listening to.
So far the have released two 12” picture disc`s on the label Mad Dildo, «Jugar Al Revès» with remixes from Roman Flügel and «Going Going» with remix by The Freelance Hellraiser.
Snippets from the manifest of Dirty Princess:
«Born as a product of compulsive buying; a visual transgression, the annoying sound of epileptic revenge.
Creating added value
DIRTY PRINCESS is a consumer, disposable but non-recyclable. It's high toxicity pollutes the rest of the elements and it is not suitable for minors without parental consent.
DIRTY PRINCESS is not an original proposal. It uses sound canons and cliches based on fixed occidental electronic music standards and plagiarizes itself.
Music as self-defense.
DIRTY PRINCESS is against monopolies although it aspires to create one.
Zero tolerance for intolerance. Total freedom of expression even though it fucks you up.
We are concerned only with the 21st century because we will not witness the 22nd.

I heart James Dean Bradfield
I fuckin` love MANIC STREET PREACHERS!
...and i love the young James Dean Bradfield. Remeber seeing them at Alaska in Oslo during their tour to promote their debut album «Generation Terrorists».
Me and my friend were two out of about twenty people in front of the stage. We did not care. We were transfixed and gazed at the stage - there was James Dean Bradfield in whyite jeans and nothing else, except his guitar of course ...
«Little Baby Nothing» from the album was released as a single and featured the infamous Traci Lord on vocals.
Here is the video.
But first; a few words by Steven Wells about the director Nick Small and his idea of music videoes:
«I WOKE up Monday morning and decided to become a pop video director. The Manic Street Preachers, those over-educated punky Welsh working-class homoerotic situationists with a death wish and a mega-yen recording contract were about to release a single, so I hammered out a treatment with my friend, Nick Small and arranged to meet the record company.
"Basically," says Nick, "the song Little Baby Nothing is about women's oppression, so we start with a little girl getting her head jumped on by a horrible old man and end with a woman committing suicide by shooting herself between the legs, having gained her revenge in the meantime by killing all the men."
"Um," said the man from Sony Records. "I'm a bit worried about the graffiti." So we dropped the graffiti and the little girl getting her head stomped on and the woman shooting herself and the scene where the little girl with the flame thrower roasts all the Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine fans and we got our feet under the table with ace production company Visionbridge. And The Man from Sony, he say - well, all right then. We were staggered, could it really be this easy?
And the piece finishes of with this manifest:
«It is time, we decided, to call ourselves Gob Video and punk rock the world of the pop promo while the art form is still hackish, unpretentious, unloved, prostituted, untrainspotted and stupid enough to be fun. All art under capitalism has a tendency to degenerate into either pretentious trash or mind-destroying dross. The pop promo biz will eventually go one way or the other. But for now there are only four rules:
1. Resist at all costs the temptation to censor yourself;
2. Don't go to film school;
3. Don't come cheap, and
4. Live fast, die old and leave a cute looking showreel.
We start shooting Homophobic Asshole for The Senseless Things next week. Any internationally known celebrities who want an unpaid cameo role in the greatest pop video ever made should contact us now»

Had a blast at Iconoclastic on friday. Could have been more people, but the floor was action packed the whole night so who cares..?
I was so sweaty my shirt was dripping ... no really.
Next up is warm up for Boy George at Sentrum Scene - exciting to say the least...
Anyways: this mix is for the new icons that turned up last friday! Thanx!

Male to male and boy on boy
There are enough male duo`s out there to make the world go round, twice. There are some utter crap out there as well. But some of the boy duo`s are worth their 15 minutes, and more.
Let`s start with: Man2Man
The brothers Mikki and Paul Zone was Man To Man, a Hi-NRG disco act from New York. They worked with the infamous producer Bobby Orlando and released hit singles during the 80s. Another band claimed the rights to the name and the brothers changed it to Man2Man.
Under this name the band scored their biggest hit «Male Stripper», teaming up with cult/electro/queer producer Man Parrish.
Originally released in the United Kingdom in 1986 on the Bolts record label, «Male Stripper» was a big club hit.

The new scene: Dangerous Muse
The buzz is out on this duo. Dangerous Muse is so hot hot hot on the blogfront, and on the decks i many clubs, that there is bound to be a backlash pretty soon. However, nothing can take away the magic that is the song «The Rejection». A sad, silly and hilarious tale of a fag and his hag ... sort of. Or what do you make of lyrics like this?
«At two am, she jumped on me/said for five months she has loved .../’Okay, it's your turn. Say the same’/I'd like to like you like you like me but I can't please understand/I'm not a jerk -- but I am»

I don`t like the drugs, but the drugs like me...
I have a signed photograph of Betty Ford. I sent her a sobbing letter about my troubled childhood, and how she had been a light in the dark ... or something. She fell for it, or did she?
Included in the letter from Betty Ford was a note asking for a donation since it took a lot of time and effort to send out signed photographs.
Come again?
We took her picture, cut some lines on it, threw on our «Clean & Serene» t-shirts and
captured it on film.
Somehow Betty did not see the cleverness and would not use it to promote her clinic ... Bitch!
Years later i am still walking around with the monkey on my back. We get along, even if we have our up`s and down`s.
It`s a jungle out there!
