BIRTHDAY PRESENT!
What i want to share is a favourite from Soft Cell. The tune «Sex Dwarf» has been doing numerous rounds on turntables in clubs and at parties where i´ve played.

Around easter i went to London, and in Rough Trade i found this amazing 12”, see-through red vinyl.
On one side: Soft Cell «Sex Dwarf». On the other side: Nitzer Ebb «Join In The Chant». Both tunes remixed by Peter Black.

I remember searching high and low for the shock-video to «Sex Dwarf». The original version of the music video featured Marc Almond and Dave Ball in a bloody butcher shop surrounded by chainsaws, nude actors, and dwarves. However, the film was confiscated by police and censored before it was even released. As a tongue-in-cheek substitute, a re-filmed «Sex Dwarf» appeared in «Non-Stop Exotic Video Show» featuring Marc Almond dressed in a tuxedo, directing a symphony orchestra of dwarves.
